Lydia Baez

Community Health Worker

Lydia Baez joined AIRnyc in 2011 after earning her BA from the City College of New York and working as both an Early Childhood teacher and part-time ESL Teacher in Washington Heights, NYC. Her experience in education revealed the substantial health disparities in minority communities, motivating her to commit her career to helping community members improve their health and socio-economic wellbeing.

Lydia's fluency in Spanish allows her to take pride in assisting her community access vital services in their native language. Her passion is centered on enhancing healthcare, education, and social services for low-income individuals to improve their quality of life. Apart from her professional endeavors, she finds joy in traveling and salsa dancing. As a resident of New York City, she especially loves outdoor activities during the vibrant seasons of Spring and Summer.
