Theresa Tian

Community Health Worker

Theresa joined AIRnyc in August 2023. She attended Amherst College, where she majored in English and pre-medical sciences. Theresa was inspired to become a Community Health Worker (CHW) because of her desire to work at the intersection of health and education as frontline staff interacting with community members. Previously, Theresa worked as an education counselor, research assistant, and Education and Policy Fellow. Bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese, Theresa recently completed the Fulbright Teaching Assistant Program in Taiwan. As a CHW at AIRnyc, she is passionate about empowering patients to have agency over their own health and livelihood. Guiding patients to overcome any health-related or social needs barriers is particularly rewarding for Theresa. She hopes to become involved in more health and community-based activities in her own area. In her spare time, Theresa enjoys playing her violin and ukulele, reading and writing, going on long walks or runs, and trying new cooking recipes.
