a.i.r. nyc Community Health Workers, or CHWs, know the neighborhoods they serve and speak the languages of the families they engage. All a.i.r. nyc CHWs are trained to use effective engagement strategies in the home and with mobile technology. They speak Spanish, French, Mandingo, Susu, English, and more. By helping families learn more about asthma self-management and available services, a.i.r. nyc CHWs keep asthmatic children and adults healthy, active, and out of the hospital, with fewer missed work days and fewer school absences.
